Paddlers and Kayaks

This part of our club is extremely busy throughout the Spring and  Summer.

Paddlers will be running every Wednesday from mid May from 6 pm - 8 p.m.

All Under 16's, will need a parent or guardian to accompany them and  we highly recommend a wetsuit as it may get a little cold in the evening.

Stand-up Paddle Boarding (SUPs) and sit on kayaks have become very popular over the past few years, so with the help of one of our members the Pagham Paddlers were formed. PYC purchased 4 SUP's in 2023 and also have a large selection of kayaks that can be borrowed by full paying members.

The Paddlers meet every Wednesday evening from 18:00 and enjoy a quiet and relaxing paddle on the waters off Pagham beach usually followed by social beer or two on the patio and the occasional BBQ as the bar is open.

While the SUP's and Kayaks are on the water the clubs JetSki is launched to supply safety cover and sometimes a tow back to shore.

Access to hot showers and parking are also some of the attractions.

A great evening for paddlers of all ages.

For more information check out the Paddlers Face Book link on this web site which can be found on the ABOUT US page.

We have had a multi function padlock fitted to the undercroft of the club, where the kayaks are storred, and the paddle boards are stored in their own 20foot container in our boat yard, which is 100m away. This allows full members to access them when the club is closed.

Please all members be aware that you use them at your own risk if taken out when the club is shut, there will be no safety cover or no one in the Club.

Make sure to assess the situation you go out in, sea state, tidal flow and weather conditions, would suggest going out with other people or at least letting someone know you are out there, don’t go to far from the beach, make sure you are able to communicate with the shore, ie mobile phone.

A buoyancy must be worn at all times and no person under the age of 16, unless accompanied by an adult.

Make sure all equipment is returned in the same condition as taken out. Above all please use you common sense when accessing the conditions, remember if you have to think whether to go or not, the answer is probably not!
