From RC Sailing Kevin, all had a good sail down to Bognor rocks then back around the Mulberry before what all youth sailors enjoy, a capsize practice! We think they enjoyed it! Onto Sunday! With light winds and overcast weather, it was great to see eight boats getting rigged. Two good courses were set by Race Officers Trench and Bob, one including the Mulberry again. The Sailors even got to see the very rare sight of RC Sailing in a dingy for a bit, having to sail a Pico in at the end so a big thank you to David who had to collect all the marks on his own.
From RC Sailing Kevin, yet another great weekend of sailing starting Saturday with Youth sailing. This saw a group of youth and parents join us from the Lagoon with Andy Grout very kindly rigging his dart 18 and taking them out for a sail in the gentle sea breeze. A huge thank you to Andy as that is what we aim for to make an affiliation with another local club work.
Also, Ben was trying out his new laser, Zak was out in his Hobie 13 and Charlie and Jay were joined on a Pico with another lagoon member Nathan.
Sunday morning saw clear blue skies, flat calm sea and no wind. After a bit of “do we go” or, “do we don’t go” ,we had three sailors wanting to sail so…… they went for it!
Race Officers Trench and Sally set a straightforward diamond course for the first race but the second was a more challenging figure of eight. By the time RC Kevin and David had set the course, they were pleasantly surprised to see seven boats being rigged and, although the wind was very light there was great racing!
